My Bio

Well, where do I start?

My Dad played with a big local showband in the late 50’s & 60’s, so from an early age, music was always around the house as I was growing up. I started doing discos in the local youth clubs in the mid 70’s and then into the night clubs around the country. After being bitten with the radio bug, influenced by offshore radio stations in the 60’s, I joined hospital radio as many of us did when we started. Full time radio called in the 80’s, so away went my career as a British Telecom engineer and a move to radio in Ireland took place. After working in various stations in Ireland & Spain, I returned home to work on a Belfast station in 1993. After an 11 year stint, I then moved to work on the Causeway coast to host drive time and onto head of music, and more recently to present a Breakfast show, Monday to Friday and again take on the position as head of music for a new Belfast station in 2016.

Over the years, I’ve worked on BBC Three counties radio, Radio Six and various stations in the UK, Canada Australia and Northern Ireland.

Today, I’ve moved my Revival show to on-line radio, as far as my musical tastes go, it goes from from Abba to ZZ Top and from Brahms to Tchaikovsky.

Kenny’s ‘Revival Show’ skilfully blends the artists and songs that 60s and 70s music fans will know and love, along with specially chosen forgotten ‘gems’. He places all this in the context of the offshore radio stations of the time, which are fondly remembered by that generation.
