Terri Hooley is best known for releasing The Undertones' single Teenage Kicks on his small independent record label Good Vibrations and for opening a record shop in Belfast at the height of the Troubles 'on the most bombed half mile in Europe''.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Terri was born in Belfast in 1948 and is passionate about all forms of music 'I am not a musical snob'.

 

 

 

 

 

Terri has had a film made about his life called 'Good Vibrations' which was described by film critic Mark Kermode as the best film of 2013. The film was made into a smash hit musical directed by Des Kennedy at the Lyric Theatre in Belfast in 2018. It was revived in 2023 and played to packed houses at the Grand Opera House in Belfast before transferring to New York's Irish Arts Center.

 

 

 

 

 

In 2023 music journalist Stuart Bailie published a book of photographs and interviews about Terri's life 'Terri Hooley: Seventy-five Revolutions'.
